She is a stunning cosmopolitan flapper, dressed to the nines, with lots of details "en grande tenue!" She is glossed in beautiful muted pastel blues, greens and pinks, with very fine detail invested in her alluring facial features and accoutrements. This statuette was issued in 1985, then retired in 1995.
A fantastic 20s style large figurine! This handsome “flapper” lady figurine is poised upon a pedestal with her knee tucked into her hands and heel resting upon her relaxed leg with her lovely pink lips, alluring blue eyes and flower headband in this striking pose. This seductive blond beauty wears a pale blue sleeveless dress with shoulder straps. Seated on a high stool, her arms rest below the raised knee. The left toe touches the base of the stool. Her head is turned to the right, showing a pink flower in her hair. "Flirtation" measures approximately 4 3/8 inches across the base and 10 1/2 inches high.
Marked on the bottom "Hand made and hand painted Reflections by Royal Doulton FLIRTATION HN3071 Modeled by Adrian Hughes c. 1985 ROYAL DOULTON (U.K.)" (see pictures) The previous owner added a felt strip to the bottom edge to prevent scratching.
This hand made and hand painted fine bone china figurine is offered in EXCELLENT CONDITION with vibrant colors and glaze with no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations.
What makes the Reflections series unique from other Royal Doulton series is the use of muted pastel colors and uniquely larger molds. These characteristics give these tall, stunning pieces a look and feel that's all their own.
