A Royal Doulton figure, "Christmas Morn", HN1992, depicting a young lady elegantly dressed, in red dress with ermine muff and trim.
Vintage Victorian Royal Doulton designed by Margaret (aka Peggy) Davies and was in production from 1946 to 1996.
Peggy Davies was one of the most successful modelers/designers at Royal Doulton during the 1950's - 1970's. She worked as a freelance under contract with Royal Doulton after World War 2 and produced a long stream of new figure models for the Doulton HN series. The late designer made an unequaled 250 figures at Royal Doulton before leaving in 1982.
Christmas Morn measures 7 1/8" tall to the tip of the ribbon on her hat. This beautiful lady is attired in a flowing burgundy-orange dress, wearing an ermine fur-trimmed jacket in a matching color. Her collar and muff are covered in this same fur. Her face features finely detailed eyes, light rosy cheeks and a pale pink mouth. Surrounding her face is brown hair, topped with a green bonnet with mauve ribbon. A matching green and mauve shoe can be seen peeking from under the hem of her dress.
In EXCELLENT condition with vibrant colors and glaze. No chips, cracks, crazing or restorations present. This lovely lady would make an exceptional addition to any collection or the beginning of one. A lovely decoration for Christmas or any time of the year.
