This beautiful young Royal Doulton lady is the "Belle o' the Ball,” HN1997. Seated on a sofa at the masquerade ball our gorgeous young creature is dressed in a magnificent red and white gown, with her mask resting on her lap. She appears to be waiting expectantly – for her beau perhaps? Please note the beautiful painting of this piece…amazing work!
Designed by R. Asplin, "Belle o' the Ball" was hand made and hand decorated in England of bone china and has the Royal Doulton stamp on the base, together with HN 1997, and copyright 1946. She was first issued in 1947 and retired in 1979 - is 6 " (17.2 cm) high. She is in excellent condition and there are no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations.
This lovely young lady would be perfect for your Royal Doulton collection or as a Christmas gift for someone special.
